Which 8HP transmissions does this kit cover?

BMW 8HP50, 8HP51, 8HP70, 8HP75 and 8HP76. ASE builds kits across the larger 8HP range from 8HP50 to 8HP96 in BMW, Mopar, Dodge/Ram truck, EcoDiesel and Jaguar variants.

Why does the kit include a billet flex plate?

It replaces the weak steel OEM JZ flex plate, which is a known failure point behind the torque an 8HP conversion is usually built to handle.

Which BMW engines and chassis does this cover?

B37, B38, B47, B48 and B58 F-series and G-series on the 8HP50 and 8HP51, and N57, B57 and S55 F-series and G-series on the 8HP70, 8HP75 and 8HP76, in both RWD and AWD xDrive.

Q: Is the 8HP45 supported?

Not the small BMW or Dodge 8HP45. The Jaguar 8HP45 is a separate case — it shares Jaguar's unique four-bolt torque converter with the Jaguar 8HP70, so it is covered by the Jaguar kit.

Q: Do I need a transmission controller as well as this kit?

Yes. This kit is the mechanical engine-to-transmission adapter only. The 8HP is electronically controlled and will not shift without a standalone TCU, such as the TurboLamik TCU 8HP Controller, purchased separately.

The small BMW / Dodge 8HP45 is not supported. (The Jaguar 8HP45 is a separate case — it shares Jaguar's unique four-bolt torque converter with the Jaguar 8HP70 and is covered by the Jaguar kit.)
