Why there are no load bolts
ASE 8.8 housings are built without load bolts, and that is deliberate. Load bolts are a band-aid for ring gear deflection in a poorly supported case; the correct fix is proper bearing preload and case rigidity. Chromoly main caps hold the carrier bearings rather than relying on a bolt pressing on the back of the ring gear.
Note the differential year range
This kit takes 2008-2010 Ford Explorer differentials specifically. The Supra/SC kit accepts both Cobra and Explorer units — they are not the same kit, so check which chassis you are building.
