Why there are no load bolts
ASE 8.8 housings are built without load bolts, and that is deliberate. Load bolts are a band-aid for ring gear deflection in a poorly supported case; the correct fix is proper bearing preload and case rigidity. Chromoly main caps are used to hold the carrier bearings in place rather than relying on a bolt pressing on the back of the ring gear.
Final drive ratios
Built 8.8 diff orders may be substituted to the closest available final drive based on stock and ratio availability. If a specific ratio is essential to your build, confirm before ordering rather than after.
Driveshaft
Moving from the Toyota three-bolt rear diff to a Ford 8.8 changes the pinion flange bolt pattern. You do not necessarily need a new driveshaft — ASE's countersunk driveshaft adapter lets you reuse an existing aftermarket shaft by mating it to a 1310 or 1350 U-joint.
